Your FOD Prevention program will ultimately take shape through a combination of rules and regulations, documented procedures, and specific people that are made responsible for its’ success. These policies, procedures, and personnel should be recorded in a document called The FOD Prevention Plan. Below is an excellent template that can be used for this purpose.
Remember, the FOD Prevention Plan for your organization should be considered a living document that is updated whenever changes are needed in order to keep it current. FOD Prevention Plans may be used for succession planning or for internal/external auditors to assess an area’s compliance with your organization’s FOD prevention objectives. The plan should be available to anyone who is impacted by the policies that it contains, but changes to it should only occur with the approval of the FOD Program Manager.
