If you discover that a tool, part, personal item or other object is missing, then stop work immediately and look for it.
First, look around to see if you may have just mislaid it where you can quickly spot it. If not, start looking in and under compartments, holes, tables, housings or other places that are or were exposed to possible contamination. As appropriate, use flashlights, mirrors, borescopes (video snakes), x-ray machines, electronic tracking monitors, or other nondestructive search tools.
If you cannot find it, report the incident immediately. Do not go back to work until so instructed.
If you cannot find it but have determined that it is in an area where it cannot cause damage, document or report the incident as required, then go back to work.
