Production Technician

About the Role

The F.O.D. Control Corporation is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production Technician to join our manufacturing team. You’ll be assembling the FOD-Razor® friction sweepers, TracSweep® traction sweepers, and related equipment that protects runways, airfields, racetracks, and industrial facilities around the world.

This is real, hands-on work — cutting, welding, fitting, coating, and assembling steel-frame sweeper systems that operate in zero-tolerance environments. Every unit we ship has to be built right. If you take pride in craftsmanship and want to build something that matters, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and fabricate FOD-Razor® and TracSweep® sweeper frames, tow hitches, and component hardware
  • Perform MIG welding on steel tubing, brackets, and frame assemblies
  • Prepare surfaces and apply powder coating to finished components
  • Read and follow technical drawings, work orders, and assembly instructions
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and light fabrication equipment
  • Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process — check fit, alignment, and weld integrity
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Assist with packaging, crating, and shipping of finished products
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet build schedules and delivery deadlines

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a hands-on trade
  • MIG welding experience — ability to produce clean, structurally sound welds on steel
  • Comfortable reading technical drawings and following written assembly procedures
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to build quality
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • Able to lift and move assemblies up to 50 lbs
  • High school diploma or GED required

Bonus Points

  • Powder coating experience — surface prep, application, and curing
  • AWS welding certification or formal welding training
  • Experience with metal cutting, grinding, and deburring
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience in aviation, aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Hands-on work building safety-critical equipment used worldwide
  • A tight-knit, performance-driven team where your work matters every day

Details

  • Schedule: Full time — 40 hrs./week, Monday–Friday
  • Location: Garland, TX (On-Site)
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States
